Roland Luk joined Questrom’s Feld Center in October 2014 as the director of West Coast business development. He is responsible for recruiting and developing new partnerships with F500 and targeted start-up companies in the West Coast, with a special focus on the Silicon Valley Bay Area region. Roland is an alumnus of University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in business. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Roland was recruited by Hewlett-Packard in Cupertino, California, to be a systems engineer, where he was responsible for teaching technical classes on the internal architecture of several software operating systems, including HP’s version of Unix and associated hardware. Afterward, Roland held numerous senior positions, including global management roles, within HP, successfully contributing to functions such as product marketing, consulting, strategic alliances, and pre-sales. Roland’s experience evolved and became specialized in building software product strategies, product plans, innovative pre-sales tools, and complex agreements with large strategic alliances in the global Fortune 500 companies. Roland welcomed and excelled in several new challenges, some of which took him to unchartered roles in Asia Pacific, where he was successful in developing new businesses and alliances with strategic partners in Japan and Korea. Roland grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and credits the career center at his alma mater for enabling him to find his first role at HP. Now, Roland wants to bring his extensive background in corporate America and Silicon Valley to establish new partnerships, which will yield new internships and career opportunities at leading and innovative companies for Questrom students. Roland enjoys discovery travel, new food experiences, the outdoors, and jogging with his family Coton dog. Roland is married, and they have a daughter in college.
Director of Strategic Industry Partners
Monica Parker-James recently joined the Feld Career Center as the Director of Strategic Industry Partnerships. In this role, she will leverage the substantial resources of Questrom School of Business, including renowned faculty expertise, cutting-edge research, and top-notch student talent, to foster strategic collaborations with industry with the goal of advancing the mission, vision, and values of all partners.
Monica’s career has spanned both formal and informal education. She most recently served as Director of Clinical and Strategic Affiliations for the BU School of Medicine, which involved establishing and stewarding relationships with hospitals, healthcare systems, academia, non-profits, and corporate partners. Prior to that role, she spent twenty years at the Museum of Science in marketing, programming, and project management. Monica is a triple Terrier, earning a BS from COM in 1991, an MS from COM in 1994, and Graduate Certificate in Fundraising Management from MET in 2016. She is also the mom of two Terriers, Maggie (COM ‘18) and Libby (CAS and KHC ‘20).
Director of Employer Engagement
Deana graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in English, first launching her career in secondary education. She then decided to transfer her teaching skills to the career consulting/search placement field, helping place all levels of professionals in various functions as well as industries. In addition to playing match-maker for candidates and employers, Deana played an integral role guiding candidates in writing more effective resumes and preparing them for successful interviews. Much of her time in the agency placement world was also spent building relationships and cultivating new business. After six years, she found her niche in campus recruitment while working for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she focused on recruiting MBA’s for its Leadership Rotational Program. In October 2013, Deana was thrilled to join the Feld Center in a role that is a perfect combination of coaching students/candidates and fostering new business relationships. Outside of higher education, Deana enjoys spending time with her family, supporting the arts, and sharing the stage with her community musical theater family.

Michael joined the Feld Career Center in June of 2016 after holding different strategic Talent Acquisition positions in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry. Michael joins Questrom most recently from Vertex Pharmaceuticals. In his past roles he was exposed to hiring key vacancies within the organization and he brings that strategic mindset mixed with his knowledge of matrixed organizations to benefit the success of Questrom. He is passionate about helping students discover various career paths within the healthcare industry. Michael is responsible for advising students within the Health Sector Management program and Business Development with Health Sector employers to enhance opportunities for students. Outside of Questrom Michael enjoys spending time in Cape Cod, is an avid golfer and die-hard Patriots fan. He resides in Franklin, MA with his wife, daughter and two dogs.

Manager of Marketing, Operations, and External Relations
Patti joined the Questrom Feld Center in June 2015 as the Manager of Marketing, Operations and External Relations. Patti is responsible for the career center’s brand: developing, implementing and executing the long-term strategic marketing plan and day-to-day marketing efforts of the department. Including branding employers, promoting employer events and job opportunities through various marketing campaigns – newsletters and targeted emails; managing social media; overseeing and populating content/resources for FeldAdvantage and Questrom websites to increase student and employer engagement and experience.
Supervises the work of the Marketing/Operations team’s data administrator who manages reporting, placement and systems management and senior program coordinator who oversees department finances, office management, student employees and daily operations of the career center.
Lead for external relations with alumni engagement efforts through QuestromConnect (mentoring platform) and external organizations that provide domestic and international student resources for career support and development.
Outside of work, Patti enjoys spending time with family/friends, participating in outdoor/indoor activities including walking, hiking, yoga and spinning, and volunteering at local organizations.
Senior Program Coordinator
Caroline joined the Feld Center as the Senior Program Coordinator in September 2016. A native of Framingham, MA, she earned her B.S. in Communication from Boston University in May 2016. She is currently working toward her EdM in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (a soon to be “Double Terrier!”) and concentrating in Higher Education Administration. In her role at the Feld Career Center, Caroline does a lot of behind the scenes work to keep the office running smoothly, but you can also find her sitting at the front desk ready to help with student inquiries, scheduling of appointments and much more! In her spare time, Caroline enjoys baking, crafting and finding new shows to binge-watch on Netflix!
Ken Sun joined the Feld Center for Industry Alliances in Summer 2016 as Data Administrator. Since then, the role has grown into Senior Data Analyst as Ken has learned to work with multiple offices in Questrom as well as across BU. Ken manages all the employment data for the graduate and undergraduate programs at Questrom. He is also a member of the Handshake Governance Committee and primary MBA Focus contact for Questrom, the main career services platforms. Ken is also a Questrom 2012 Alum and current PEMBA concentrating in Strategy and Innovation and Operations and Technology Management. In his spare time, Ken likes to play video games, watch/play sports, and learn about new technology.
