Facebook has expanded remote-work eligibility among its 60,000-strong global workforce. The social media giant will allow “most” employees at all levels to apply to work remotely on a permanent basis, with staff able to either work at home full-time or via an office-based hybrid model that would see them in the office at least half the week. CEO Mark Zuckerberg added that he personally plans to spend as much as half of the next year working remotely. Facebook’s announcement comes as corporate giants around the world wrestle with how to navigate a thicket of issues related to workers returning to offices.
