How to Rethink Social Impact During COVID-19 with Yoobi’s CEO Ido Leffler – Forbes

In this moment of instability and uncertainty, Yoobi’s CEO Ido Leffler is leading by example.

“From the minute we saw school closures on the news, we knew we had to act,” he says.

Over 55 million students in K-12 schools, both public and private, have already been affected by school closures according to statistics updated today by Education Week. As schools have transitioned to distance-learning, Leffler and Yoobi’s nonprofit partner Kids in Need Foundation have asked themselves the question: who is providing school supplies so kids can learn effectively at home?

This week, Yoobi announced that the company has impacted over 5 million students across the country since its founding in 2014. They have continued to expand their reach by partnering with actress Kristen Bell on an initiative called #FeaturedTeacherFridays. For five Fridays, beginning last week, Bell and Yoobi plan to select a teacher that is making an impact in a community of students relying on distance-learning during the epidemic.
