Apple’s AirPods have been a real success story. The little in-ears are among the most beloved of the company’s products. AirPods sound good, fit the ear snugly, have great battery life and even recharge wirelessly, if you have the right case. AirPods now have hands-free Siri, come in a tiny case you can fit in the smallest pocket and have, in a short space of time, become incredibly, unmistakably, recognizable.
So, the prospect that the third-generation of AirPods (we’re on the second-gen just now) might be coming soon is certainly exciting news.

His new discovery, elementary, my dear Watson, comes in the form of something that Apple has accidentally let slip in the beta version of the upcoming software release, iOS 13.2.
